Key Responsibilities

• Recondition and repair die components and production tooling using grinding, machining, turning, and welding 
• Modify tooling and dies, including dimensional corrections, timing/alignment adjustments, and design improvements 
• Design and build new tooling and dies from part prints, sketches, or limited specifications 
• Set up and operate all tool room equipment with efficiency and precision 
• Maintain detailed tooling records, drawings, calculations, and specifications 
• Troubleshoot stamping die and press issues alongside Setup personnel 
• Perform minor machinery repair as needed 
• Instruct and guide proper operation, troubleshooting, and repair techniques 
• Maintain, repair, and calibrate tool room equipment 
• Ensure professional presentation of work area and maintain die supplies 

Key Performance Indicators

• Zero production delays due to die availability 
• Meet or exceed department scrap targets 
• 100% adherence to press plan 
• Achieve plant safety objectives

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker in a production stamping environment 
• Strong ability to perform geometric and algebraic calculations for complex tooling modifications 
• Must be at least 18 years old 
• Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the United States
   

Technical Skills:

• Proficient with tool room equipment 
• Comfortable using computers (spreadsheets, documents, email) 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
   

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods 
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs 
• Push, pull, bend, kneel, and reach overhead 
• Maintain control of hand and foot operations 
• Read, speak, and understand English
