Job Title: Shift Manager

Job Summary

The Shift Manager at Slim Chickens is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring every shift runs smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with Slim Chickens’ standards of quality and hospitality. The Shift Manager leads by example — motivating team members, delivering excellent guest service, and maintaining a clean, safe, and positive work environment. This role serves as the bridge between hourly team members and upper management, ensuring consistency, communication, and accountability on every shift.

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise team members during assigned shifts to ensure      smooth operations across all areas of the restaurant.
  • Maintain high standards of food      quality, service, and cleanliness in accordance with Slim Chickens’ brand expectations.
  • Coach, train, and motivate team      members, providing feedback and direction to ensure performance excellence.
  • Manage cash handling and register      reconciliation accurately and responsibly.
  • Monitor food safety, sanitation,      and health standards, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist with scheduling,      inventory, and shift planning to meet labor and cost goals.
  • Provide exceptional guest      service, resolving guest issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure a positive,      team-oriented work environment, fostering respect, communication, and      collaboration.
  • Step into various roles as needed      — including cook, cashier, or drive-thru — to maintain operational flow      during busy times.
  • Communicate effectively with upper management regarding      shift performance, staffing needs, and operational challenges.

  • Willingness to work a flexible      schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand and walk for      long periods as needed.
  • Frequent contact with guests,      requiring tact, courtesy, and a positive attitude.
  • Frequent contact with team      members, requiring effective communication, direction, and teamwork.
  • Must be able to lift at least 20      pounds. 
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and      squat frequently.
