We are looking for an experienced surgery scheduler for immediate hire. 

Job Duties:

• Performs scheduling function in a high volume Physician Practice at Baptist South office.
• Acts as a professional liaison for staff, other hospital personnel, medical staff, and physicians’ offices.
• Requires skills include typing, experience using electronic medical record system
• strong customer service and problem solving
• Provides patient with generic preoperative information sheets and advises patients of preoperative surgical and financial requirements.
• Ensures that physician's orders are received. Verifies insurance and collects payments. Obtains authorization for surgery from patients’ insurance company. May schedule in-office diagnostic therapy and other treatments when needed.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

• High School Diploma/GED
• Must have experience in surgery or procedure scheduling including insurance verification and authorization.
• 2 years of experience in a medical setting
• knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience with medical insurance verification/authorization and ability to communicate financial terms with patients.
