As a Production Assistant at Edison’s Creamery, you'll play a vital role in keeping our

kitchen clean, organized, and running efficiently. This is a hands-on role that combines kitchen

support with delivery and inventory tasks. We're seeking someone punctual, organized,

and takes pride in doing things right the first time.

Schedule & Hours:

The hours for this position will vary between our busy summer season and our slower

winter season. This is a part-time position with the possibility of increasing to full-time,

depending on our volume and the employee’s availability during the winter months.

  • Summer (April–September): 30–40 hours per week
  • Winter (October–March): 20–30 hours per week

Shifts will consist of weekday mornings (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM) or evenings (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM) depending on which shift the employee is hired for, with occasional weekend hours for event

prep or deliveries. 


Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Packaging & Labeling: Accurately package and label pints, ice cream sandwiches, and other products for retail and events.
  • Deliveries: Make local deliveries to the scoop shops and support event cart prep as needed.
  • Baking Support: Cut and portion inclusions and assist with measuring ingredients. 
  • Dishwashing & Sanitation: Clean and sanitize kitchen tools, dishes, and surfaces in compliance with food safety standards. 
  • Kitchen Cleaning: Assist with daily and weekly cleaning tasks to maintain a tidy, efficient workspace.
  • Receiving & Stocking: Receive deliveries from vendors and organize supplies in proper storage areas and rotate stock between freezers
  • Inventory Support: Help track ingredient and packaging inventory through regular counts and updates.
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have a clean driving record to drive company vehicles
  • Must be 21+ years old
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently after training
  • Commitment to cleanliness and sanitization
  • Detail-oriented to ensure proper labeling and organization of product
  • Previous kitchen, warehouse, or production experience is a plus—but not required

Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThe position does not have any regular responsibility for overseeing or supervising the work ofother team members.

  • The work environment is a production kitchen environment, which includes baking and ice cream-making equipment. The employee must complete their work satisfactorily in an environment where there are significant distractions, including the sounds of equipment in use, and interruptions to assist delivery drivers or coworkers. Employees may spend brief periods (about 15% of their shift) in a walk-in freezer with temperatures as low as -10°F. The role also involves exposure to waffle cone-making fumes (5%), working with water (25%), and occasional outdoor duties while assisting with deliveries.

Work within the kitchen is in a semi-confined space requiring movement in close

quarters with team members.
