Position Summary
Portobello America is seeking a dependable and motivated Operator to join our production team. This role begins as a Production Operator and, upon successful completion of training, will transition into a dual-role position as a Quality Control (QC) / Forklift Operator.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining Portobello America’s high standards of product quality and operational excellence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Production Operator Responsibilities (Training Phase)
Operate manufacturing equipment according to standard operating procedures
Monitor production lines to ensure efficiency and product consistency
Perform basic quality checks and report defects or irregularities
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all safety policies and procedures
Assist team members and supervisors as needed
QC / Forklift Operator Responsibilities (Post-Training)
Perform detailed quality inspections of finished products and in-process materials
Document inspection results accurately and report quality concerns
Ensure products meet company specifications and customer standards
Safely operate forklifts to move raw materials and finished goods
Load and unload materials from trucks and production areas
Maintain accurate inventory movement records
Conduct daily forklift inspections and report maintenance needs
Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous manufacturing experience preferred
Forklift experience preferred (certification required prior to operating; training provided if needed)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
Basic math and documentation skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
Ability to safely operate industrial equipment
Training & Development
This position includes structured training in:
Quality Control inspection procedures
Company quality standards and documentation
Forklift operation and safety certification
Inventory and material handling processes
Successful completion of training is required to transition into the QC / Forklift Operator role.
Work Schedule:
2nd Shift 2:00PM-10:30PM Monday-Friday
