About the Role:

As an Instruction Specialist, you will play a key supportive role in the classroom by assisting Lead Instructors in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for students. You will have an essential supportive role in helping students succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about child development, education, or behavioral support and are looking to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 6 units in child development or a related field. Must have completed the following:

    • Employee Rights form

    • Health Screening

    • TB test

    • Criminal Record Clearance

    • Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training

    • proof of immunizations for MMR, Tdap and flu

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in collecting data and using positive behavior supports

Responsibilities:

  • Support and assist Lead Instructors.

  • This position may supervise children, assist students with eating/drinking, help students with using the toilet or change diapers, and may facilitate lesson plans in tandem with the Lead Instructor.

  • Instruction Specialists support the implementation of treatment plans by collecting data throughout the day


Skills:

As an Instruction Specialist, you will use your strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and assist in maintaining a positive classroom environment. Attention to detail and organizational skills are key as you support data collection on student progress and behavior, under the direction of the Lead Instructor or behavior team.

Your ability to work collaboratively and follow guidance will be vital in implementing individualized support strategies and ensuring a consistent, structured learning environment. Previous experience working with individuals with developmental delays or disabilities, along with a basic understanding of ABA principles, will help you contribute effectively to the care and education of the students. While this role does not include supervisory responsibilities, your reliability, initiative, and professionalism will be essential in supporting the team and student success
