The Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, compliance, and operational oversight of Foreign-Trade Zone activities. This role ensures full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, FTZ Board requirements, and company SOPs while supporting efficient warehouse, inventory, and trade operations.
Key Responsibilities
FTZ Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
Ensure compliance with 19 CFR Part 146, FTZ Board regulations, and CBP requirementsMaintain accurate FTZ records, including:Admissions (CBP Form 214)Weekly EstimatesZone Status ChangesTransfersManipulations & Manufacturing authorizationsCoordinate and prepare documentation for CBP audits, annual reconciliations, and compliance reviewsServe as the primary liaison between the company, CBP Port Director, FTZ Grantee, and customs brokersInventory Control & Recordkeeping
Monitor FTZ inventory accuracy between WMS, ERP, and ACE systemsEnsure proper inventory classification:Privileged Foreign (PF)Non-Privileged Foreign (NPF)Domestic (D)Zone-Restricted (ZR)Conduct and support: Cycle countsLabeling of all cargoDaily aisle audits Annual physical inventoriesInventory discrepancy investigations and corrective actionsMaintain audit-ready documentation and records retention per CBP standardsOperational Coordination
Work closely with warehouse, transportation, and customer service teams to support FTZ receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping processesCoordinate FTZ admissions, transfers, and withdrawals for:ConsumptionExportDestructionEnsure FTZ procedures are integrated into daily warehouse workflows without disrupting productivityReporting & Systems Management
Prepare and submit required FTZ reports, including:Weekly Entry (CBP Form 3461/7501 equivalent via ACE)Annual ReconciliationFTZ Annual ReportMaintain FTZ data within:WMSERP systemsACE PortalIdentify and escalate compliance risks, discrepancies, or system errorsPolicies, SOPs & Training
Develop, maintain, and update FTZ SOPs, work instructions, and compliance manualsTrain warehouse, operations, and administrative staff on FTZ procedures and compliance requirementsSupport internal audits and corrective action plans (CAPA)Qualifications
Required
3+ years of experience in FTZ operations, customs compliance, or international logisticsStrong working knowledge of:FTZ regulations (19 CFR 146)CBP proceduresInventory control systemsExperience working with:ACECustoms brokersCBP auditsHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skillsPreferred
