About this position

PremierBank is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support our Marketing and Communications team, with a primary focus on digital content and social media engagement. This role offers flexibility to begin part-time (approximately 20–25 hours per week) during the academic semester, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time hybrid position upon graduation, depending on the candidate and business needs. Candidates who have already completed their degree may also be considered for full-time placement based on business need.

In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience developing content that helps customers, community members, and colleagues feel informed, confident, and connected. Responsibilities may include crafting electronic newsletters, producing short social videos, developing customer stories, creating internal training materials, and sharing posts that highlight the communities we serve.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Help create and organize content across formats including digital (social, email, etc.), print, and internal communications.
  • Assist with writing and/or editing captions, short posts, campaign content, and customer-friendly messaging while ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with the PremierBank brand.
  • Capture photos and produce basic video content for social media, internal communications, and community or in-branch events.
  • Assist with updates to website pages, blog content, and digital campaigns.
  • Contribute to content brainstorming, basic A/B testing, trend tracking, and social media planning, scheduling, monitoring, and engagement, including responding to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner.
  • Help highlight the people behind PremierBank, customers, employees, and community partners.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments (Marketing and Communications, Retail, Loans, Compliance, Human Resources, etc.) to support consistent communication across the organization. 
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Organize marketing assets, maintain content libraries, update contact lists and distribution groups, and track project timelines to support workflow coordination.
  • Assist with community sponsorship and donation tracking, submit press releases to local media outlets, and monitor placements.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field required; progress toward or completion of a bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in marketing, social media, communications, or digital content creation required. Such interest may be shown through employment, internships, relevant academic coursework (such as advertising or social media), student organizations related to marketing, public relations, or communications, or personal creative projects. Prior professional      experience is not required.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to clarity, tone, and accuracy
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined in managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Creative mindset and willingness to explore new ideas
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and follow projects through completion
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools
  • Basic photography and video editing experience, including personal, academic, or internship projects
  • Familiarity with WordPress or other website content management tools preferred but not required
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage may be required for work-related travel.
  • Prior experience or familiarity with financial services is helpful but not required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to perform essential job functions.
