Description:

George School, an all-gender Quaker boarding/day high school located in Newtown, PA, seeks a Director of Student Activities beginning August 2026 for the 2026-2027 academic year.

  • Develop and coordinate comprehensive weekend activities to serve the social, educational, physical and cultural enrichment of a diverse student body.
  • Oversee weekend and select weeknight programming, ensuring on-site leadership and supervision by the Director of Student Activities.
  • Communicate clearly and on-schedule with the Office of Student Life, social duty staff, and communications office regarding upcoming weekend activities.
  • Coordinate social duty assignments, including weeknight study hall supervision.
  • Manage the student activities budget. Track expenditure per weekend and submit expenses through the Business Office’s system.
  • Collaborate with advisors of student clubs to support club events and integrate activities into the all-school event calendar. 
  • Keep records of student club membership and ensure club funding is inline with the number of students a club serves and its purpose. 
  • Organize student transportation to and from campus for school breaks.
  • Advise the Student Activities Board (SAB).


Requirements:
  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Two or more years of relevant experience planning events for adolescent audiences.
  • Previous experience in program coordination or youth leadership roles preferred.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, as well as event management software.
  • Experience with basic graphic design to make posters to promote events.
  • Effective communication and people skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, including a diverse student body and group of colleagues.
  • Enthusiasm for working with young people and fostering a supportive and inclusive community atmosphere.
  • Demonstrated commitment to upholding safety protocols and promoting responsible behavior among students during recreational activities.
