About the role
- The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for maintaining and reconciling the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial data. This role also involves performing complex accounting transactions, analyzing account balances, and producing timely, GAAP-compliant financial statements.
What you'll do
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Maintain fixed asset records
- Maintain inventory control records
- Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist with annual external audit
- Assist with implementation of new procedures to enhance the workflow of the department
- Provide support to other departments and team members as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in general ledger accounting
- Strong understand of GAAP and financial reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a multi-entity environment
- Proficient in Sage
