Capital Good Fund (“Good Fund”) is a nonprofit, U.S. Treasury-certified Community Development Financial Institution headquartered in Providence, RI. Founded in 2009, our mission is to create pathways out of poverty and advance a green economy through inclusive financial services. To date, we have originated more than $60M in affordable loans, leases, and power purchase agreements for the benefit of more than 17,500 low- and moderate-income clients and community organizations.

One of Good Fund’s key initiatives is the BRIGHT program, which makes solar accessible to low- and moderate-income households and mission-aligned commercial organizations (nonprofit organizations, schools, affordable housing properties, etc.). To date, Good Fund has supported approximately 2 MW of projects across Georgia and Pennsylvania through 3 pilot programs. Now, Good Fund is preparing to enter full implementation, with a pipeline of more than $50M safe harbored commercial solar projects. 


Position Summary


The EPC Manager will serve as the primary liaison between Capital Good Fund and EPC partners participating in the Pennsylvania BRIGHT Communities program. As the in-house subject matter expert on commercial solar design, construction, and long-term maintenance, the EPC Manager will provide critical oversight of projects from initial proposal through commissioning, ensuring systems are delivered to specification and perform as expected once placed in service.


Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be included as assigned:

Project Design Oversight and Technical Review

  • Review, evaluate, and approve commercial solar project designs, ensuring alignment with engineering best practices, applicable codes, and organizational standards.

  • Identify design risks or constructability concerns early and escalate issues to internal stakeholders and external partners as needed.

Construction Quality Assurance 

  • Coordinate with the contracted owner’s representative to ensure projects are built in accordance with approved plans, budgets, schedules, and industry standards.

  • Support quarterly investor reporting, providing updates on milestones achieved, schedule deviations, risks, and mitigation plans 

EPC and Contractor Management

  • Vet, manage, and maintain strong working relationships with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partners and subcontractors.

  • Lead communication with EPCs throughout project execution, ensuring expectations, deliverables, and timelines are clearly defined and met.

  • Review contractor submittals, change requests, and project documentation, flagging concerns related to cost, quality, or performance.

Operational Performance and Maintenance Support

  • Collaborate with the Servicing team to investigate system faults, underperformance, or monitoring alerts.

  • Coordinate proactive and reactive maintenance with EPCs and contracted maintenance providers

Subject Matter Expertise and Organizational Leadership

  • Serve as the organization’s internal subject matter expert on commercial solar project execution, performance, and best practices.

  • Provide technical input across departments to support project development, asset management, and strategic decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience designing, installing, commissioning, and maintaining commercial behind the meter solar generation systems

  • NABCEP Photovoltaic Installation Professional (PVIP) Certification

  • Experience managing contractors (e.g., as an EPC working with a subcontracted installation crew or electrician)

  • Deep knowledge of Pennsylvania’s energy policies, utility tariffs, building and electrical codes, and permitting and interconnection procedures, or the willingness and ability to learn quickly

  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail

  • Passion for making solar accessible to all people, regardless of income, ownership status, or housing type


Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Manufacturer-specific certifications (Enphase commercial microinverter training is a plus, since that is what we safe harbored)

  • Experience with prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements 

  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms


Salary and Benefits

  • $70,857 to $83,160 annually, commensurate with experience

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
