About this position
The Warehouse Manager oversees all day-to-day warehouse operations to ensure goals are met safely, efficiently, and with a high level of quality. This role supports a positive, team-oriented environment while driving performance and continuous improvement across the operation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Direct and manage all functions within the distribution warehouse, including packaging operations.
· Contribute to strategic planning by providing insights, completing action plans, monitoring results, and ensuring productivity, quality, inventory accuracy, and customer-service standards are consistently met.
· Lead all HR-related functions for the department, including recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, scheduling, performance management, and corrective actions. Communicate clear expectations and uphold company policies.
· Monitor financial performance by maintaining accurate inventory, analyzing variances, understanding equipment needs, and optimizing labor utilization.
· Provide strong leadership with a focus on developing and mentoring direct reports to enable effective team management across shifts or functional areas.
· Maintain and improve warehouse processes by enhancing product handling and storage methods across receiving, inspection, storage, picking, and shipping.
· Ensure all equipment and machinery remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.
· Review warehouse layout and product flow as needed; recommend equipment additions or process changes to improve efficiency.
· Enforce safety standards and regulatory compliance while maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy work environment.
· Pursue ongoing professional development through training, industry networking, and relevant publications.
· Oversee facility and grounds-related needs, such as fire codes, inspections, building maintenance, and safety requirements.
· Source, quote, and purchase equipment or facility-related items as required.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:· Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Proven management experience with a record of successful leadership.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Ability to motivate employees and drive quality, accuracy, and productivity in a safe, team-focused environment.
· Creative, detail-oriented, efficient, and adaptable to shifting priorities.
· Capable of working independently, managing multiple tasks, and learning new skills quickly.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Proactive approach to new projects, with sound judgment and the ability to make informed recommendations.
· Effective project-management skills.
· Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
