Decontamination Assistant

Decontamination Assistant Responsibilities:

Prepares, processes, maintains and distributes surgical instrumentation and equipment to medical personnel in designated areas of the hospital for the delivery of medical care to our patients.

• Performs soiled collection of reusable contaminated surgical instrumentation, clinical patient care equipment and other items.
• Performs the decontamination of contaminated patient care equipment and surgical instrumentation.
• Performs the preparation, packaging and terminal sterilization of surgical instrumentation and special procedure trays.
• Operates and monitors all reprocessing and sterilization equipment.
• Performs quality assurance performance monitoring of the in-house sterilization process.

Decontamination Assistant Requirements:

• High School or Equivalent (GED)
• Entry Level
• Ability to read, write, hear, speak and comprehend the English language.

Salary Range: $15.00 to $22.00/hr (based on experience)

• Night and evening shift differential
