Position Summary:

Terral RiverService, Inc. is seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Associate to support and grow our customer base throughout North and Central Louisiana. This role is responsible for developing new business, maintaining strong customer relationships, and promoting Terral’s products and services including aggregate materials such as limestone, sand, gravel, and rip rap. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, knowledge of the construction/materials industry, and the ability to manage a sales territory independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, construction companies, municipalities, and industrial customers across the assigned territory.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand Delta Rock’s market presence.
  • Promote and sell Delta Rock aggregate products including sand, gravel, crushed stone, and specialty rock materials.
  • Provide accurate quotes, pricing, and product recommendations based on customer needs.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, operations, and production teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Track customer activity, bids, and sales leads while maintaining detailed records and reporting.
  • Conduct routine customer visits, jobsite visits, and project follow-ups to support long-term relationships.
  • Assist customers with product availability, delivery scheduling, and troubleshooting concerns.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and customer demand in the region.
  • Attend industry meetings, networking events, and trade associations as needed.
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred (Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or related field).
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience, preferably in construction materials, aggregates, trucking, or industrial services.
  • Strong knowledge of aggregate products and the construction industry is preferred.
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with customers at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a territory and multiple accounts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic sales tracking/reporting systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout North and Central Louisiana regularly.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with internal teams.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires frequent travel throughout the assigned territory.
  • Jobsite visits may require walking on uneven terrain and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally and safely navigate active construction and quarry environments.
