About the Role

The Warehouse Handler II oversees daily warehouse operations and provides direction to a team of warehouse staff to ensure the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This leadership role combines hands-on warehouse responsibilities with team coordination, safety enforcement, and process improvement. The Lead Warehouse Handler plays a key role in maintaining inventory integrity, achieving operational goals, and fostering a safe, organized, and productive work environment. This position acts as a liaison between warehouse staff and management, helping to resolve issues, train new team members, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse handlers to meet daily operational goals.
  • Lead by example in receiving, inspecting, storing, and shipping goods according to company standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in regular cycle counts and audits, ensuring inventory accuracy.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure team compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Train and mentor warehouse staff on procedures, equipment operation, and best practices.
  • Coordinate work schedules and task assignments to optimize workflow and efficiency.
  • Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
  • Communicate effectively with logistics, transportation, and inventory teams to coordinate operations and resolve issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment to support productivity and safety.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to management.
 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of warehouse or logistics experience.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment (forklift and/or pallet jack experience required; certification preferred).
  • Strong understanding of warehouse safety standards and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift operator certification.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or team lead role.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning technology.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
 

Work Environment:
 This role involves working in a warehouse environment with physical demands, including lifting, standing, and operating machinery. Occasional overtime or shift adjustments may be required to meet business needs.
