About this position
The Berlin Steel Construction Company is a full-service specialty contractor, primarily with structural steel and miscellaneous metals. We design, fabricate, and erect structures in the Northeast and in other parts of the country. We have 2 fabrication facilities, 4 erection operations facilities, and 6 office locations that provide engineering and management of projects. We are a 100% employee-owned company (ESOP) with a desire for growth. We service the private commercial, public, institutional, and industrial markets.
We are looking for a dependable Heavy Equipment Machine Operator to support our front-end fabrication shop FEI, LTD in Natural Bridge Station, VA. This role is responsible for safely operating assigned machinery, handling steel materials, and maintaining production flow while following all shop safety and quality standards.
What You’ll Do
- Operate heavy-duty shop equipment safely and efficiently.
- Rotate between machines based on production needs.
- Load, unload, and position steel components.
- Prep equipment and keep work areas clean and organized.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Report safety concerns and support overall shop operations.
What We’re Looking For
- Ability to read shipping lists, cutting lists, and basic blueprint instructions.
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a physical shop environment (bending, stooping, standing).
- Willingness to learn multiple machines through in-house training.
