Job Title: Patrolman/Patrolwoman- Part Time (Non-Union)

The Burlington County Bridge Commission (“Commission”)is seeking Part-Time Patrolman/Patrolwoman to ensure the safety and security of Commission employees, commutersand Commission property. This position works under close supervision inaccordance with departmental policies and procedures. Part-Time: Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends Hours worked per week: up to 28 hours Must work a minimum of four (4) shifts per monthWage: $25.00 per hour
Qualified candidate must have an active New Jersey Police Training Certification / License
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• The ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instruction, exercise initiative and discretion in everyday and emergency situations, including but not limited to: o Proficient use of firearmo Make decisions based upon department policy and trainingo Interact with the bridge employees and commuters in a professionalmanner• Enforces all applicable ordinances, laws and regulations related totraffic issues to ensure the safety and security of Commission employees,commuters and property. • Patrol designated areas via motor vehicle or on foot, to detectand deter criminal activity and traffic violations; inspects Commission buildings/properties toensure security during assignments. • Maintains high visibility onCommission property as assigned.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
All candidates may be required to take a complete physical examination including a urine drug screen and a psychological evaluation, subject to the American Disabilities Act.
• Extended periods of standing and/or sitting.• Able to work in confined spaces.• Able to safely maneuver between the toll booths and the toll plaza amid oncoming and continuous flow of traffic.• Must be able to conduct directed patrol on foot to walk bridge span.• Must be able to lift minimum five (5) pounds.MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
