About Us: Port Wilmington is a comprehensive bulk and break-bulk material handling and processing company. Located on 308 acres where the Delaware and Christina Rivers converge, it is the first deep-water terminal on the Delaware River. Key features include 10 berths (including Ro-Ro and liquid tanker berths), four gantry cranes (plus a 100-ton mobile harbor crane), a depth of 38 feet (11.6 meters) at MLW, and 2030 reefer plugs. The port offers dedicated interstate ramps, overnight access to 49% of North America’s population, no Delaware River bridge tolls when leaving, and an on-site tug company. It excels in efficient CBP inspections, CT scanning, 850,000 square feet of temperature-controlled warehouses, and serves two class 1 railroads.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Supervise: Manage a team of crane operators, technicians, and maintenance staff.
  • Optimize Performance: Monitor and enhance crane productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure Safety: Uphold strict safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Schedule and oversee routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Resource Management: Allocate cranes based on cargo volume and vessel schedules.
  • Budget Management: Handle the crane operations budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Training and Development: Train new operators and foster a safety-conscious culture.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement contingency plans for emergencies.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Minimum 10+ years as a crane operator with supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge: Expertise in various crane types and safety regulations.
  • Certifications: Crane operator training program certification, OSHA certification, and TWIC credentials (or willingness to obtain).
