Accounting Assistant
We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual for our Accounting Assistant position. This is a multi-tasking position in which you will have the opportunity to learn many aspects of accounting, including journal entries, daily invoicing, accruals, billings, and other processes. The key to growth opportunity within our company is the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Audit and process intercompany invoices.
- Assist with month end journal entries.
- Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Maintain document control standards for accounting.
- Ensure proper disposal of expired documents.
- Analyze financial information to identify discrepancies.
- Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion.
- Maintain accounting databases by entering data, processing backups.
- Verify financial reports, vendor invoices, statements, etc.
- Verify the vouchering of accounts payable invoices from suppliers.
- Compile and prepare routine reports.
- Help with the administration of audits as required; scheduling meetings; photocopying; faxing; assisting with presentations; ordering supplies.
- Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Learns and acts as a back-up supporting other accounting functions within the team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Graduate. An Associates Degree in Accounting is highly preferred.
- 1-3 years of direct hands-on experience working with an accounting department.
- Proficient with MS Excel Spreadsheets and MS Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with associates internal and external of the company.
- Exceptional organizational skills.

- Customer Service Driven.
- Trustworthy.
- SAP experience preferred.
