Bakery Helper Supermarket

Position Summary

The Bakery Helper supports the bakery team with daily production and customer service. This role helps prepare bread, cakes, and other baked goods, keeps displays full and inviting, and assists customers with orders in a friendly, helpful way. Its a hands-on position perfect for someone who enjoys working with food and creating a great shopping experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Baking & Production

• Assist in preparing and baking bread, cakes, pastries, and other bakery items.
• Follow recipes, portioning, and baking guidelines to ensure consistent quality.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Customer Service

• Take customer orders with a friendly, positive attitude.
• Answer basic questions about products, ingredients, and availability.
• Provide excellent service and help create a welcoming bakery environment.

Display & Merchandising

• Keep bakery cases and displays fully stocked, neat, and visually appealing.
• Rotate products to ensure freshness and reduce waste.
• Monitor product levels and communicate when items need to be replenished.

General Support

• Assist bakers and team members with daily tasks as needed.
• Help with packaging, labeling, and preparing items for sale.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and store policies.

Qualifications

• Friendly, customer-focused attitude.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness to learn baking and food-prep tasks.

• Basic communication skills; bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

• Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
