Location: Bessemer, Alabama 

Typical Work Hours: M-F, 7 am-3:30 pm

Position Summary 

 

The receiving clerk will be responsible for managing incoming deliveries to the warehouse by verifying the accuracy of deliveries against what was expected.  

 

 

Essential Duties/Job Responsibilities (Job Duties) 

  • Receive/unload shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt.
  • Collaborate with procurement team to identify expected deliveries and the corresponding schedule/timetables.
  • Verify packages/shipments according to their order and invoices (quantity, quality, price, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate order/delivery records and assist in inventory control.
  • Process returns for unsatisfactory shipments and/or receive replacements.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications/Skills: 

  • High School Degree or GED
  • Strong organizations skills
  • Basic math and record keeping abilities 
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to skillfully and safely operate job specific tools and equipment 

 

 

Experience: 

  • A minimum of one year of warehouse/distribution center experience. 
  • Experience in a light manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Experience in receiving or inventory preferred.

 

 

Requirements: 

  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work environment and working conditions are reflective of a light manufacturing setting.
  • Perform work on concrete floors for duration of shift.
  • Must be able to lift and move (push, pull, carry) items weighing up to 50 lbs. 
  • Must be able to raise arms above shoulders regularly and freely rotate arms/shoulders to lift/move parts.
  • Must be able to kneel, crouch, stoop, bend, and squat when needed.
  • Work will include repetitive hand, arm, wrist, and leg motion.

Will need hand and finger flexibility and dexterity and excellent eyesight with or without corrective lenses.
