Medical Courier

Responsible for receiving, transporting and delivering blood, specimen, and other items as requested to and from various IBJI locations within the Near North Division as assigned. 

• Drives to various IBJI locations within the Near North Division to pick up blood, specimens and other items using personal vehicle.
• Receives and transports blood, specimens, and other items from IBJI sites back to Morton Grove Laboratory for processing.
• Ensuring that blood, specimens and other items are stored properly during transport. 
• Answering the primary phone and processing the call, as needed.
• Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Completing other comparable duties and assignments as directed by the Clinical Staff Manage

• Minimum 6 months customer service or medical transporter experience required.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of a changing scheduling environment and accommodate the needs of the practice.
• Must have clear driving record.
• Must have personal vehicle insured with 250K/500K liability coverage.
• Must have personal vehicle insured for business use.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications. Able to interact with computers to enter data or process information. 
• Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.  
• Communicate professionally with physicians, patients and staff.
• Able to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time. 

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
