About Bigfoot Roofing & Construction
Bigfoot Roofing & Construction is a growing construction company serving the Jacksonville area with a focus on quality workmanship and strong customer relationships. As we continue to expand, we’re looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to oversee our day-to-day accounting operations and support accurate, timely financial reporting.
Staff Accountant Summary
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for daily accounting functions, overseeing month-end close, and ensuring accurate financial records with a strong emphasis on construction and Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting. This role will work closely with leadership to support and maintain strong internal controls.
What You’ll Do as a Staff Accountant
- Process and support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Assist with payroll coordination and related entries
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Perform account reconciliations (bank, credit cards, balance sheet accounts)
- Support Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and job cost tracking
- Maintain accurate job costing records and assist with financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Assist with budgeting and cash flow tracking as needed
- Support external accountants and auditors when required
What We’re Looking for in a Staff Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
- 3+ years of accounting experience (construction industry strongly preferred)
- Experience with WIP accounting and job costing required
- Solid understanding of basic GAAP principles
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
