About this position

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily telecom construction activities in the field, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role supervises crews and subcontractors performing aerial and underground fiber installation, enforces quality standards, and serves as the primary field liaison between operations, project management, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily telecom construction activities (aerial, underground, and fiber placement).

  • Manage field crews and subcontractors to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.

  • Conduct job site inspections to ensure compliance with company, client, and OSHA safety standards.

  • Review and interpret construction prints, fiber designs, and utility maps.

  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and workforce scheduling.

  • Lead tailboard/safety meetings and enforce safe work practices.

  • Monitor production goals and ensure deadlines are achieved.

  • Document daily progress reports, field updates, and photo documentation.

  • Troubleshoot field issues and escalate concerns when necessary.

  • Ensure proper restoration and customer satisfaction upon job completion.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of telecom construction experience.

  • Experience in aerial and/or underground fiber construction.

  • Prior leadership or crew supervision experience preferred.

  • Ability to read and understand telecom construction prints and fiber schematics.

  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety compliance.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Proficient with basic computer systems and reporting tools.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with major telecom providers (AT&T, Comcast, Spectrum, Verizon, etc.).

  • Familiarity with permitting, right-of-way requirements, and local municipality coordination.

  • Experience managing multiple crews simultaneously.
