Location: Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans
Clearance Required: Top Secret
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, between 0700–1800 


About the Role

Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) is seeking a highly qualified Planning Support Specialist to support operational and strategic planning within the G‑3/5 Directorate. This position plays a critical role in mobilization planning, OPLAN/CONPLAN development, readiness analysis, and comprehensive operational planning that directly supports Marine Corps and Joint missions.


What You’ll Do

  • Support development, refinement, and staffing of OPLANs/CONPLANs across MARFORRES, MEF, Service, and Combatant Command levels.
  • Conduct readiness, force flow, and mobilization analysis for Marine Forces Reserve units.
  • Prepare high‑impact briefs, planning documents, and executive‑level correspondence.
  • Provide expert analysis on Marine Corps planning processes, GFM requirements, and force employment considerations.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and planners throughout the Marine Corps and Joint enterprise.


Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Top Secret Clearance (must be active).
  • Graduation from Command and Staff (or joint equivalent).
  • Experience requirements (one of the following):
    • 0505 MOS + 3 years planning experience at a general officer–level HQ with Reserve exposure, OR
    • 6 years OJT planning experience at general officer–level HQ, including GFM work and Reserve exposure.
  • Demonstrated experience in OPLAN/CONPLAN development.
  • Relevant planning experience within the last 5 years.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduation from SAW, SAMS, MAWS, or SAASS.
  • Marine Corps experience (highly preferred but not mandatory if otherwise exceptionally qualified).
  • Strong background in GFM, mobilization planning, or large‑scale exercise design.


Work Environment & Schedule

  • On‑site at Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans.
  • Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week (between 0700–1800).
  • Travel may be required
