Description:

The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for providing guests with a welcoming, clean, and enjoyable 

breakfast experience. This role ensures food safety compliance, maintains buffet presentation, and 

delivers excellent customer service in accordance with company standards and California labor 

regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time including working at either 

the Hilton Garden Inn or Homewood Suites.

• Greet guests warmly and assist with seating or buffet guidance.

• Prepare, stock, and replenish breakfast items (hot and cold foods, beverages, 

condiments).

• Maintain cleanliness of dining area, buffet stations, and kitchen prep spaces.

• Follow all food handling and safety guidelines per California Health & Safety Code.

• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.

• Assist with dishwashing, trash removal, and sanitation duties.

• Respond promptly to guest requests and resolve minor concerns with professionalism.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth breakfast service.

• Remains aware of any and all potential security problems and reports them to 

supervisor/manager.

• Reports any suspicious or unusual situations encountered while performing duties to 

supervisor/manager.

Requirements:

Language skills:

Should have the ability to read and interpret documents in English.


Experience and/or Education:

• Previous hospitality or food service experience preferred, but not required.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

• Physical requirements: standing/walking for extended periods, lifting up to 25 lbs, bending, and 

reaching.

• Must comply with all workplace safety and hygiene standards.

• Food Handler’s Card (California state requirement) must be obtained prior to or within 30 days 

of hire.

and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance 

vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are the responsibilities of those an associate will

encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. 

While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts, 

occasionally works in outside weather conditions, and is frequently exposed to vibration. The associate

is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The associate

occasionally works in high precarious places. The noise level in the work environment varies. The 

associate will most often work alone.
