Machinist

Ranco Fertiservice, Inc., a premier manufacturer of dry fertilizer blending and handling equipment located in Sioux Rapids, IA.

We are seeking a skilled, motivated and dependable individual to join our team as a Production Machinist at Ranco. 

As a Machinist, you will play a key role in our manufacturing process by setting up, programing, and running a CNC vertical mill and operating and maintaining other precision machinery to create high-quality parts and components.

• Set up, program, operate, and maintain CNC vertical mill and/or manual machining equipment  and manual lathe.
• Requires a strong understanding of machining principles and the ability to optimize processes for productivity and quality.
• Detects and reports defective materials, identifies non-conforming parts, and relieves from inventory as necessary and produces accurate components.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety and cleanliness procedures.
• Works at different workstations as needs require or shifts between stations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements.
• Adhere to safety guidelines, company policies, and industry regulations

Education, Reasoning ability, and or Experience:

Has completed at least a 2-year qualified precision machining program; OR have High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and have at least 4 years of equivalent prior CNC machining experience in a job shop environment. Must have proven track record in work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both. 

• Able to use and apply problem-solving techniques and analytical skills.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and work with fractions and decimals.
• May perform milling, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing, and sanding tasks.
• Strong knowledge of machining principles, tools, and cutting parameters.
• Knowledge with ERP software. CSI/Syteline is a plus.
