Field Ironworker / Erector II (Experienced)
Pay Rate: Negotiations start at $22–$28/hour (based on experience)
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: 1st Shift (6:00 AM–7:00 AM start time)
Position Type: 90-Day Temp-to-Perm Opportunity
Position Overview
This is a journey‑level, field‑based ironworker / structural welder position. The majority of work is performed on active construction sites, erecting and installing structural and miscellaneous steel. This role is ideal for professionals who prefer field installation, heights, and hands‑on jobsite work over shop fabrication.
⚠️ This is not a shop‑only welding position. Shop work is minimal and supportive.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Erect and install structural and miscellaneous steel per contract documents
- Perform field welding and bolting in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
- Work at heights using lifts, scaffolding, and on iron
- Assist with rigging and crane picks during steel placement
- Read and interpret blueprints and erection drawings
- Coordinate with crews, foremen, and superintendents on active sites
- Follow and enforce strict jobsite safety protocols
Nice to Have
- Rigging and crane signaling experience
- Familiarity with telehandlers and man lifts
Prior ironworker or field foreman exposure
Licensure, Certification & Registration
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- AWS-certified (or ability to certify) structural steel welding, primarily stick welding
- Forklift (or other aerial lifts) experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 6+ years of welding experience, primarily field‑based
- Structural steel erection experience required
- Comfortable welding vertical and overhead
- Experience working outdoors in active construction environments
- Ability to work at heights and around heavy equipment
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
