Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the planning, development and delivery of complex engineering projects. The role requires full responsibility for interpreting technical requirements, organizing and executing assignments, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, and resolving unique, non-routine problems involving advanced equipment and process systems. What you'll do 

• Lead technical design reviews and gate approvals, ensuring compliance with project requirements and design standards
• Implement and maintain engineering change control processes; assess impacts and obtain necessary approvals
• Perform value engineering and lifecycle cost analyses to optimize capital and operating expenditures
• Develop and monitor KPIs for engineering performance (schedule adherence, quality metrics, resource utilization)
• Prepare and review technical specifications for procurement; evaluate vendor proposals and lead technical bid evaluations
• Manage vendor technical queries, support factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT), and oversee supplier quality assurance
• Support commissioning, start‑up and performance testing activities; provide on‑site technical supervision when required
• Conduct root cause analyses of technical failures and implement corrective/preventive actions and lessons learned
• Ensure designs consider manufacturability, maintainability and operability; coordinate with manufacturing and installation teams
• Champion HSE, sustainability and regulatory requirements within engineering deliverables and design decisions
• Mentor and develop engineering staff; oversee training plans and competency development
• Drive digitalization initiatives (standard CAD libraries, PLM/PDM usage, engineering automation) to improve efficiency
• Prepare and present technical reports and executive summaries for stakeholders and senior management
• Performs other duties as assigned

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
• Technical, problem-solving, communication and leadership skills
• 7 plus years’ experience high preferred 
• Experience with Continuous Casting is much preferred
• Ability to interact with our global engineering team
• Ability to interact with Project Management, Supply Chain, customers and suppliers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and procedures
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Leadership skills
• Excellent with 3D engineering software, Finite Element Analysis, Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
