Position Summary

We are seeking a Civil/Highway Department Manager   to lead and expand our Transportation practice in the NY/NJ market. This is a high-visibility leadership role for an experienced PE who wants to build a team, grow client relationships, and help shape the strategic direction of a rapidly growing engineering firm.

Requirements:


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and strategic leadership for highway and roadway design projects
  • Oversee preparation and review of geometric design, alignments, grading, MPT, drainage, utilities, and traffic barriers
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers and designers
  • Serve as technical lead in coordination with structural, traffic, and construction teams
  • Develop and maintain client relationships with DOTs, NJTA, agencies, and prime firms
  • Contribute to proposal development and strategic business growth
  • Support long-term practice development and hiring strategy

Qualifications Desired

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • PE License
  • 8+ years of experience in the engineering field
  • Knowledge of AASHTO, MUTCD, State DOT, NJTA, and other NY/NJ local standards
  • Experience and knowledge of Microstation
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoTURN
  • Experience leading teams or managing staff
  • Strong client-facing and proposal development experience preferred
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with desire to grow a practice
  • Uncompromising Integrity
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and people skills a must.
