IPC is seeking a highly motivated Manager, Field Distribution to provide leadership to 3rd Party distributor partnerships (strategic and operational) and is the conduit with Subway Business Development & Market Operations in order to provide world class supply chain performance for Subway restaurants.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads all aspects of the distribution relationship for one or more 3rd Party Food Service Distributors.
  • Develop Distributor relationships (strategic & operational) that deliver world class supply chain service for Subway Restaurants.
  • Develop distribution options for all markets that create competition for the benefit of our members.
  • Manage and execute the contracting process for distribution services with assigned distributors. This includes the coordinating of the bidding process, negotiating the contract details, driving savings into the contract via CI and communicating the contract status to local SUBWAY® personnel.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the Subway® Business Developers and Subway Market Operations’ leadership in order to drive quality, service, and profitability for Subway® Franchisees.
  • Drive a continuous improvement (CI) mindset, internally and externally, that delivers an ongoing pipeline of initiatives that achieve quality, service, and profitability goals.
  • Monitor the Distributor’s compliance to the IPC Contract in all areas, including Subway
  • Gold Standards, the IPC Operations Manual, and pricing agreements.
  • Research and develop network opportunities within distribution footprint.
  • Maintain responsibility for all work that creates continuity and contingent distribution options within given territory, assuring continuous last mile distribution.
  • Recommend and manage transitions from existing distributors to new acquiring distributors.
  • Conduct periodic Site Inspections of select Distribution centers, as well as coordinate satisfaction surveys.
  • Lead annual business reviews with distribution centers and their applicable business partners/agents.
  • Requires a working knowledge of strategic initiatives such as Promotions, Services, Automation and Transformation.
  • Champion key national roles in areas such as service, quality, CI, and Subway relationships.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Effectively communicate at a professional level with multi-level distribution center(s) and their representatives.
  • Ability to analyze data to identify inconsistencies and identify resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Certificate of competencies via LinkedIn, or equivalent, in Excel and OneNote
  • Ability to lead change and manage projects effectively.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of multiple organizations.
  • Self-motivated, goal orientated, quality driven, and capable of working independently with little supervision.
  • Knowledge of warehouse and transportation basics as well as a working knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and inventory management data and tools.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field required.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of supply chain management experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of variety of computer software applications (e.g. Microsoft Suite, BI tools, etc.) as well as working knowledge of ERP, WMS, TMS.

Travel 15-20%. Does not require international travel.

Occasionally, local travel within driving distance, and overnight domestic travel may be required.

This is a full-time position. Standard office hours of Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST. This position may require additional work hours outside these work hours, including weekends to complete job requirements.
