Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inventory Manager to oversee all inventory operations within Production Plant 2, supporting our Defense and Commercial Department. This non-exempt position reports to the Director of Supply Chain and is responsible for managing raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods inventory for transparent armor manufacturing.

This role ensures accurate inventory control, efficient material flow, and alignment with Quality, Production, and Shipping requirements. The Inventory Manager drives process improvements and maintains system accuracy using the SYSPRO ERP system.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Oversight & Accuracy:

  • Supervise and manage stock levels of raw materials (including polycarbonate, glass, frames), WIP, and finished transparent armor products.
     
  • Lead cycle counts and annual physical inventories; investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
     
  • Develop and maintain inventory control procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
     
  • Communicate with Purchasing and the Director of Supply Chain regarding delivery schedules, shortages, and inventory planning.
     
  • Provide regular inventory reports, KPIs, and analysis to Operations and Finance leadership.
     

ERP Management:

  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions, adjustments, and reporting within the SYSPRO ERP system.
     
  • Ensure system integrity through timely and precise data entry.
     
  • Support continuous improvement of ERP processes and inventory controls.
     

Receiving & Shipping Oversight:

  • Oversee incoming materials and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy in quantities, documentation, and condition.
     
  • Verify receiving transactions are entered correctly and promptly into the ERP system.
     
  • Coordinate with Shipping to ensure timely and accurate outbound deliveries.
     

Quality Coordination:

  • Partner with Quality and Production teams to ensure materials meet specifications and are properly handled.
     
  • Support traceability and compliance requirements related to defense and commercial products.
     

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure all inventory practices comply with company safety policies and regulatory standards.
     
  • Enforce proper PPE usage and safe material handling procedures.
     
  • Maintain documentation to support audits and compliance reviews.
     

General Duties:

  • Maintain organized inventory storage areas.
     
  • Support cross-functional initiatives to improve material flow and efficiency.
     
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Supply Chain.
     

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Manufacturing/production plant environment.
     
  • Ability to lift heavy materials as required up to 50lbs.
     
  • Ability to squat, crouch, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
     
  • Ability and willingness to obtain forklift certification.
     
  • Must pass drug test and background check.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.  
  • Hands-on ERP experience required; SYSPRO experience strongly preferred.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (reporting, tracking, and analysis).  
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.  
  • High attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.  
  • Working knowledge of shipping/receiving, material handling, and inventory control best practices.  
  • Ability to analyze discrepancies and implement corrective actions.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Purchasing teams.  
  • Continuous improvement mindset and adaptability to evolving processes and technologies.
