About the Position
The Director of Sales and Marketing will play a pivotal role in driving overall revenue growth at MVP Sports Clubs, with primary responsibility for membership sales and internal and external marketing strategy. This role works collaboratively with in-club and corporate leadership to develop and execute concise, data-driven strategies that increase new member acquisition, improve retention, strengthen brand presence, and maximize revenue performance.
This leader will oversee the Membership Sales Team and Marketing Department, ensuring alignment between lead generation, prospect management, brand positioning, and conversion strategies. The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for creating synergy between sales and marketing to deliver measurable growth across all clubs. This position is part of the Corporate Sr. Leadership Team, reporting directly to the President
Membership Sales Responsibilities
- Directly oversee the Regional Membership Sales Manager to drive sales and meet company objectives.
- Ensure consistency within the MVP Sports Clubs Sales functions by developing written standardized procedures and consistently evaluating sales metrics and performance with building leadership.
- Evaluate and oversee sales goals, and report to leadership team as needed.
- Manage objective tracking weekly to ensure all department and revenue and QA objectives are met.
- Develop and oversee strategic monthly sales incentive programs designed to increase new membership acquisition and align with monthly budget goals.
- Manage and grow sales vendor relationships.
- Manage corporate accounts alongside Regional Membership Sales Manager.
- Partner with Regional Membership Sales Manager to oversee and review reports on all prospecting activities.
- Monitor prospect pipelines, lead follow-up activity, and conversion metrics to ensure effective sales performance.
- Work annually with the team to develop appropriate membership budgets.
- Responsible for all aspects of sales reporting (weekly/monthly reports).
- Manage membership structures, pricing, and related sales functionality within club operational software.
- Lead strategy on membership pricing in partnership with executive team.
- Responsible for overseeing Regional Membership Sales Manager’s sponsorship revenue strategy, sales, renewals, and reporting.
Marketing Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the Marketing Department, ensuring alignment with MVP Sports Clubs’ mission, vision, values and brand standards.
- Drive and create impactful marketing strategies focused on acquisition of new members, retention of existing members, program growth and brand awareness.
- Plan and execute integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns across digital advertising, CRM, brand website, social media, email communications, and traditional media.
- Direct promotional campaigns and lead generation initiatives to support sales performance goals.
- Develop and manage the marketing budget in collaboration with the CFO, utilizing performance data and analytics to evaluate effectiveness and optimize ROI.
- Oversee CRM and marketing automation platforms to ensure effective lead development, prospect communications, and campaign performance tracking.
- Build KPIs to measure marketing effectiveness and translate data into actionable insights. Report on KPIs and adjust strategy as required based on performance metrics.
- Guide brand development and ensure consistency across all marketing channels and assets.
- Manage all marketing platforms, including website administration, mobile app updates, and member portal updates, and in-club marketing assets.
- Design and produce marketing assets alongside the marketing team across email, social media, web, signage, and promotional materials.
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns to support new program launches.
- Oversee digital content strategy, including content ideation and optimization.
- Manage and nurture strong partnerships with marketing agencies, external partners, photographers, videographers, and other vendors to support high-quality execution and long-term collaboration.
- Identify and manage strategic community engagement initiatives.
- Project manage implementation of new marketing systems, tools, and partnerships.
- Manage media relations and crisis communication strategy and execution.
- Manage content calendars, creative asset development, and internal marketing requests.
Additional Leadership Responsibilities
- Work with the VP of Human Resources to evaluate and implement appropriate and competitive compensation models for respective departments.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition Manager on strategy, partnerships and process regarding recruitment and onboarding for all respective departments.
- Administer annual performance reviews for direct reports and oversee team performance and output.
- Consistently understand the industry market and bring new and innovative ways to grow revenue in overall membership sales and fitness programming/revenue.
- Continually assess the competitiveness of best practices by researching relevant comparable companies in and outside of our industry.
- Create a positive impact across the organization with the other members of the Corporate Sr. Leadership Team, by driving core initiatives and establishing company-wide direction, all with a focus on mission, vision, and values.
- Participate and use MVP Sports Clubs facilities.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, communications, advertising, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ sales and marketing experience in a role.
- Strong knowledge of graphic design, copy writing and creative content strategy.
- Enjoy strategy and management of many details.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions.
- Ability to balance objectives related to people in the context of the overall business philosophy.
- Proficient in Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

- Physical Requirements: Bend, stoop, crouch, climb, stand, sit and turn/pivot; lift/lower, push, pull and carry up to 40 lbs; perform office tasks using simple hand grasping, fine hand manipulation and reach associated with assigned tasks such as paperwork, typing, and/or word processing, filing, calculating and use of telephone; see, hear, and speak with sufficient capability to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.
