Objective: | The production/safety clerk plays a pivotal role in supporting the production department by ensuring that production lines are adequately staffed and operational while concurrently enhancing the safety standards within the workplace. To promote Safety Awareness on the floor, identify hazards and correct unsafe work practices. |
Basic Salary: (According to qualifications and experience) | Pay Range: $17.50 – $18.50 Hourly |
Basic Hours: | 40 hours per week. Additional hours, weekend and evening work may be necessary to meet the demands of the position. |
Duties & Responsibilities: | - Create and maintain daily and weekly schedules in accordance with production requirements.
- Schedule personnel based on staffing matrix to ensure appropriate skill levels are present.
- Work with production supervisors to manage time off, attendance, and vacancies effectively.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Temp Agencies to address staffing needs and personnel issues.
- Assist leads and supervisors as necessary
- Collect, verify, and update timekeeping information for all employees as needed.
- Conduct weekly/monthly audits (Eye wash stations/fire extinguishers/emergency exit lights, locker, hoist inspections/GMP) to comply with company safety program.
- Coordinate First Aid kits -monthly inspections
- Coordinate Fire extinguishers – annual inspections and suppression system semi-annual inspections.
- Conduct weekly safety walks throughout facility and document findings, create work orders as needed and send report to management for review.
- Promote Safety Awareness throughout facility and maintain a “safety first” environment.
- Identify and address potential safety hazards, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Facilitate Annual Alchemy trainings for Food Safety
- Facilitate Annual Safety trainings and department specific learning plans
- Provide training reports for management bi-weekly.
- Act as Safety committee secretary and document safety meetings minutes
- Other duties as assigned.

Education/Qualification Requirements: | - Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in using computer software for documentation and record-keeping. Detail oriented and very organized
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

- Frequent walking the floor; occasional lifting or other manual work when assisting/teaching employees.
- As generating reports and schedules may require the use of software, Production Schedulers must have an aptitude for computers.
