Job Description:

  • The Medication Manager is responsible for the security of all medications and supervision of the clients at the residential facility. 
  • Medication management includes monitoring, reconciling medications, and ensuring clients get the desired outcomes. 
  • It requires a thorough review of prescribed drugs and their possible side effects to create treatment plans and monitor their safety and efficacy.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Enters client information into computer, count meds and enter into MM, enters data for time accuracy for all medical appointments outside the facility.
  • Compiles data for occupancy and census records in the Medication’s Department.
  • Verifies the clients medications prior to dispensation with the clients and the proper dosages and the proper medication.
  • Manages and is responsible for the refill of medications, and changes directions as per Doctor’s orders. 
  • Picks up medications from pharmacies.
  • Monitors and supervises the dispensation, storage, and destruction of medications; maintains records and logs of medications as per State Regulations, Company Policies and Doctor orders.
  • Understands and enforces Company Policies and Procedures and State Regulations.
  • Understands all emergency protocols, responds to emergencies.
  • Maintains Med Room in compliance with Infection Control and Standard Precautions Policies with emphasis on proper Biohazard Waste/Sharps Management and Disposal.
  • Immediately reports client changes in condition to care managers and addiction counselors.
  • Other duties may be assigned. 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities may include making sure meds employees are safely doing their job, observing, storing, and keeping track of medications.
  • Observe work environment for potential injury hazards and take appropriate preventative safety precautions.
  • Able to read and write reports, business correspondence, memos and staff performance evaluations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Communication Skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Interact well with our clients and all staff.
  • Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out written or oral instructions.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. 


Salary Information

$20.00 - $23.00 Hourly Wage
