About this position
Position Summary:
The Casual-Time Universal Worker supports residents with daily needs and helps maintain the day-to-day operations of our assisted living community. This hands-on role may include assisting with personal care, housekeeping tasks, meal support, and resident activities to help ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment. Casual-Time Universal Workers are expected to work one weekend shift per month as needed by The Maples and may be asked to pick up additional hours based on staffing needs. Must be available to work all shifts during the week and weekends, including day and overnight shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, bathing, and mobility.
- Support residents during mealtime and assist with serving or feeding as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, making beds, and cleaning resident rooms or common areas.
- Encourage and assist residents to participate in recreational and social activities.
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to the nurse or supervisor.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold residents’ rights and dignity at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive, caring, and safe environment.

As a Maples Universal Worker, you will utilize your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide compassionate care. Your ability to work independently and as part of a team will be essential in collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care. Your attention to detail and ability to monitor and report changes in patients' health status will help ensure their safety and well-being.
