About this position

PURPOSE:  To ensure prompt, friendly, courteous customer service, accurate cash handling, store security and smooth store operations during designated shifts

 

 

RESPONSIBLILTIES:

 

  1. CUSTOMER SERVICE 
    • Help customers find product locations, assist customers with carry-out if possible, or otherwise provide customer service that requires mobility in the store.
    • Answer customer questions and complaints, or refer to appropriate staff.
    • Issue credits to customers for returned items and ensure that returns are properly disposed of.
    • Help customers with Buying Club orders
    • Help customers with placing special orders 
    • Hand out promotional and educational materials.
    • Answer phones by third ring.
    • Maintain store in clean, orderly condition during shift. 
    • See that spills and other hazardous conditions are cleaned up promptly.

 

  1. FRONT END ADMINISTRATION
    • Cover Floor Staff breaks on register.
    • Provide change for Floor Staff as needed from the safe.
    • Stock checkout stands with register supplies (bags, register tape, pens, etc.) and inform Operations Manager of low supplies.
    • Assist Operations Manager with notifying Floor Staff of price changes and specials and all changes in store policies and procedures affecting cashiering.
    • Coordinate Floor Staff stocking/cleaning when there are no customers to check out.
    • Find staff to fill in last minute holes in schedule.

 

  1. ALL STORE 
    • Deal with shoplifters, disorderly customers, and medical emergencies following established procedures.  
    • Properly communicate between shift Floor Managers and department heads.  (Emails, IOUS, special situations.)
    • Maintain the exterior of the store sweeping, trash, and snow removal as needed.
    • Trouble shoot equipment breakdowns during shift, following established procedures.  
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks as needed during shift.  

 

 

  1. SUPERVISION ASSISTANCE
    • Train Floor Staff designated by Operations Manager.
      1. Take trainees on tour of store, explains departments.
      2. Review Floor Staff manual with trainee. (future goal)
      3. Schedule practice time on registers in training mode. (future goal)
      4. Work with trainees on regular register shifts.
      5. Assist with typing or updating training manual as needed. (future goal)
    • Give input to Operations Manager on Floor Staff evaluations.

 

 

  1. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Attend Shift Supervisor meetings, department meetings and storewide meetings.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience serving the public, handling multiple demands while staying calm.
  • Ability to project an outgoing, friendly personality.
  • Communications skills:  good listening, clear instructions.
  • Familiarity with natural foods.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy.
  • Willingness to work one weekend day and some evenings.
  • Regular, predictable attendance.
  • At least 6 months experience at the store
  • Ability to lead
  • Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple demands
  • Ability to give clear instructions
  • Willingness and ability to learn and grow to the meet the changing requirements of the job.

 

 

 

PURPOSE:  To prepare attractive, healthy dishes for natural foods deli and assist Chef in coordinating kitchen operations, to help meet department goals for sales, margin, labor and customer service.

 

STATUS:                            Reports to Chef or Shift Supervisor in their absence.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. FOOD PREPARATION
  2. Prepare deli offerings following specifications of Chef.

 

  1. DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE
  1. Maintains hot & cold lines.
  2. Pull old or low-quality items, record and properly dispose of them, following established procedures.
  3. Maintain kitchen and retail display areas in sanitary and orderly condition, following guidelines set by Chef or Shift Supervisor in their absence.
  4. Clean up spills, take out trash as needed.
  5. Follow safety, storage and labeling procedures.
  6. Advise Chef of equipment repair and replacement needs.  

 

  1. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Ensure high standards of customer service to assist customers and co-workers.
  2. Attend department and storewide meetings.
  3. Maintain professional demeanor, including clean & neat attire.
  4. Perform other tasks assigned by Chef or Shift Supervisor in their absence.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

REQUIRED:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.

  • Willingness and ability to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job.

DESIRED:

  • Experience cooking for deli, restaurant, or catering.
  • Working knowledge of natural, organic, vegetarian and other specialty cuisines, with understanding of various dietary restrictions.

 

 


Salary Information

$19.0 - $20.0 Hourly Wage
