Trystar’s team members are our most important asset, we are in search of a Supervisor for our Materials Department. This position, reporting to our materials manager, plays a critical role in achieving our strategic objectives. Trystar is looking for a candidate for the Materials Supervisor position who is ambitious to grow in their supply chain career and has a strong self-starting work ethic excited to implement the necessary forward-looking improvements needed to achieve Trystar’s vision of becoming the world’s foremost custom solution provider.

Under the direction of the Sr. Materials Manager, the Materials Supervisor will be responsible for helping to execute our Materials team mission of having the right inventory, in the right place, at the right time.

In this role you will get to:

  • Subject matter expert for all material handling activity in the FBO site, expected to guide coach and provide feedback to materials team across three shifts upholding a high standard of excellence for accuracy and organization.
  • Monitor and report out on daily work operations using qualitative and quantitative metrics both to help provide direction to the team on achieving departmental goals as well as communication to upper management.
  • Develop team of direct reports by securing appropriate training, assigning progressively challenging tasks, applying progressive disciplinary action as appropriate and conducting formal written and verbal performance reviews.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct daily team meetings.
  • Maintain personnel records using ADP.
  • Regularly collaborate with various departments in order to help prioritize and meet the needs of all internal and external customers.
  • Facilitate and contribute to define, improve, and uphold process standards driving accountability to materials management personnel and processes.
  • Understand and execute all types of material transactions using Epicor (ERP).
  • Supports and conducts safety related initiatives as they relate to direct areas of responsibility, including JSA’s, inspections, root cause analyses, corrective actions, etc.
  • Read, comprehend, and execute processes and procedures according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) which are necessary to properly operate the equipment and manufacture the product.
  • Ability to comprehend and act on a production schedule in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Operate various powered industrial vehicles within the plant.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain, or related.
  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated understanding of material handling and inventory control best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience using an ERP system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to contextualize competing proprieties and coordinate resources as aligned to the need.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend plant directives written in English. Perform simple mathematics to comprehend and interpret process sheets, SOP manuals, tally sheets, etc.
  • Frequent lifting, standing, bending & reaching required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
  • Must adhere to all the PPE requirements to perform the job safely, this includes but is not limited to, Eye, Hand, Feet, and Hearing protection.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • APICS certification
  • 2 years of experience managing direct reports.
