About the Talent Pool
This is a pool requisition for future short-term summer project work. We are seeking qualified candidates for transportation roles, Heavy Equipment Mechanics (421 A). Heavy Equipment Operators (HEOs), and Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (310S/T) at CFS Alert.
While there are no immediate vacancies, joining this pool ensures that you will be considered for upcoming project-based opportunities. Candidates in our pool may be contacted as opportunities arise.
As part of this talent pool, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of heavy-duty equipment, vehicles, and transportation for DND, Nasittuq, and Government employee use. This may include work as a Heavy Equipment Operator or a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic for short-term project work during the summer months.
Requirements
- Eligible for RELIABILITY security clearance and pre-employment medical.
- Eligible for a valid passport for travel to CFS Alert, NU, including overnight stays in Thule, Greenland.
- Cross-cultural adaptability and a strong team player mindset are essential.
- Trade Certification acquired in Canada; Red Seal considered an asset.
- Certified Heavy Equipment Mechanic Off-Road Earth Moving Equipment (421A) and/or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic 310S/T.
- Experience in operating and maintaining heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
- Willingness to be qualified to operate vehicles containing hazardous materials.
- Full Driver's License for eligibility for DND 404.
What We Offer
- Fly-In Fly-Out schedule with 8x8 rotations (8 weeks on site, 8 weeks off site) for short-term project work.
- Travel paid from home to and from the site from any location in Canada.
- Competitive salary: $51.80 - $56.35 per hour. (Role Dependent)
- 48-hour work weeks (Monday-Saturday) with opportunities for overtime.
- Isolation Allowance: $27 a day for every day on site.

- 6% vacation pay on every check.
