Position Summary: Mercury Broadband is expanding its fiber network and searching for talented FTTx OSP Project Manager to help produce high-quality designs for projects to be implemented throughout the Midwest. Candidates shall have strong knowledge of FTTx and the ability to think creatively to solve problems. Candidates must have strong project management skills and the ability to manage vendors to a schedule to ensure on-time delivery of projects while meeting design standards. Candidates may be tasked with outside plant design, drafting, GIS layouts and analysis. Responsibilities will also include several aspects of project production including high level and conceptual design, cost analysis, fiber assignments, GIS input, permitting, and as-builts.

Key Responsibilities:
- QC High- & Low-Level Designs and costs estimates for fiber access networks.
- Produce and/or QC permit/construction drawings from GIS based design software.
- Creating/QC splice matrix and fiber assignments.
- Coordinate meetings/reports from contracted vendors.
- Support project management and General Managers on matters including timelines, milestones, deliverables, and quality control. Raise project concerns or risks to management, as necessary.
- Obtaining and digitizing right-of-way and easements where required.
- Gather the necessary field information regarding aerial, buried, or underground OSP telecommunications cables and associated facilities in the design of work orders to place new network, utility poles, hand holes, terminal, cabinets, etc., or to modify the existing network.
- Setting up and coordinating field work and site visits.
Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-2 years related work experience with OSP/ISP Fiber Design.
- Minimum of 1-2 years project management experience.
- Understanding of OSP design, planning, construction and the ability to perform a cost analysis to determine the most cost-effective and efficient manner of the placement of communication facilities.
- Understanding of OSP installation and maintenance technician activities.
- Working knowledge and proficiency with QGIS, ESRI products, 3GIS, and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Vetro or other GIS asset management platforms preferred.
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
- General knowledge of fiber-to-the-x (FTTx) networks is required.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field, additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
- Light to moderate lifting may be required.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate.
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
