PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE - WELDER/FABRICATOR
CANOPY MARINE ACCESS LLC dba American Muscle Docks and Fabrication seeks a full-time Welder-Fabricator to join our operations in Wellsburg, WV. This person performs welding, fabrication, assembly, and material handling of raw materials, boat dock assemblies, and parts. The position reports to a Team Leader and the Director of Operations.

WHAT THE ROLE DOES:
- Reads and comprehends workmanship standards and verbal instructions to safely and efficiently produce quality parts and assemblies. Accurately completes production, quality, and safety documentation.
- Verifies equipment setup and performs safety checks. Follows safe job procedures and Safety Data Sheets.
- Performs MIG, TIG, and spot welding; operates surface grinders and cutting torches. Uses hand and power tools. Randomly checks quality to ensure specifications are met.
- Operates metal fabrication equipment to include press brakes, drill presses, grinders, ironworkers, saws, shears.
- Moves, organizes, and stores raw materials, finished goods, tools, machine parts, etc.; assures load stability.
- Uses proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment, e.g., forklifts, stand-ups, pallet jacks, tow motors, safety cages, industrial ladders, etc.
- Uses mechanical-assisted or team lifting techniques to handle loads up to 70 lbs.
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas, tools, etc. Keeps manufacturing, warehouse, staging, storage, and inventory locations well-organized.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
- High school degree or equivalent. AWS certification in welding is preferred. Metal fabrication and OSHA-10/30 are desirable.
- 2-5 years of experience in welding (TIG/MIG/Stick) and fabrication of aluminum and steel components. Prior hands-on set-up, maintenance, and operation of metal fabrication equipment. Carpentry and warehousing experience are desirable.
- 2-5 years of experience operating propane, electric, or diesel trucks and related material handling equipment.
- This is a “safety-sensitive” position requiring pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
- Possess proficiency with email, Word, Excel, timecard entry systems, and web-based personnel systems.
- Strong applied math skills required to meet specifications and production requirements. Must be able to read and interpret drawings/blueprints.
- Additional capabilities include: Time management, problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Excellent safety record. Motivated to learn all facets of the fabrication and welding process.
- Finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination. Ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components. Standing or sitting for long periods.
