Anesthesia Services P.A. (ASPA) is seeking a dedicated Perioperative Anesthesia Support Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team. This role plays a vital part in supporting high‑quality, patient‑centered care by assisting with evaluation, coordination, and management of patients in the perioperative setting.
The NP will work closely with anesthesiologists, the PEP/PAE team, surgical teams, and perioperative staff to ensure safe, efficient preparation and follow‑up for surgical patients.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preoperative chart reviews for inpatient add‑on surgical patients.Respond to questions and requests for information from consults, PEP, and PAE teams.Assist in coordinating care for upcoming surgical cases.Evaluate postoperative follow‑up patients on the inpatient floors.Assist anesthesia providers with blocks or other invasive procedures.Rotate between anesthesia offices located in the Surgery Center and Main ORs.Answer and respond to office phone calls.Respond to consult requests and review concerns/questions with an anesthesiologist.Conduct blood‑refusal interviews and complete required documentation.Evaluate all in‑house CCHS epidural/OnQ catheter follow‑up patients.Assess obstetric patients after wet taps for potential post‑dural puncture headaches.Place preoperative medication orders for next‑day surgeries in COR, CSC, and WOR.Document accurately and maintain patient confidentiality.Communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and physicians.Support the Department of Anesthesiology staff and participate in required meetings.Adhere to ethical guidelines and standards of NP practice.Please note: This job description is not intended to be all‑inclusive. Qualifications
Active NP/APRN licensure in the State of Delaware.Current BLS and ACLS certifications.Credentialed for moderate sedation within 3 months of hire.Appropriate credentialing to provide services under the Department of Anesthesiology.Professional liability coverage (ASPA‑employed NPs are covered under the ASPA malpractice plan, per Specified Health Professional Rules).Why Join Us?
