Security Systems Specialist


Reports To:

Director of Maintenance and Security Operations


Basic Function:

Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the financial institution's properties, assets, and personnel. This role involves monitoring security systems, conducting regular assessments, and maintaining users on the security platforms.   


Responsibilities:

  • Continuously monitor security camera footage to ensure the safety and security of the financial institution's properties and occupants.
  • Ensure that surveillance systems are recorded properly, and that footage is stored securely and can be accessed when needed.
  • Report any suspicious activities or incidents to the appropriate authorities promptly.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of security systems, including alarms, cameras and door access.
  • Regularly submit monthly branch inspection forms to ensure all branches meet security standards.
  • Set up employee access in the alarm, surveillance, and door systems to ensure the appropriate access levels and permissions. Remove access when employees leave employment. 
  • Submit tickets for repairs to the service provider to maintain the functionality of security systems. Track and follow up on these tickets to ensure timely resolution and system functionality.
  • Reviews invoices for the new purchase or repairs of security devices to ensure accuracy.  
  • Submit a detailed report of any security incident, including the nature of the incident, actions taken, and recommendations for preventing future occurrences.
  • Regularly update security operating procedures to reflect the latest best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform regular maintenance checks on all security systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and efficiently.
  • Report any issues with security systems immediately.
  • Perform regular security assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Work closely with law enforcement agencies to investigate and prevent crimes, such as robberies and thefts.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant security regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate with security contractors for timely service and provide physical security as needed.
  • Coordinate with Branches and Security contractors for weekly replenishment schedule.
  • Responsible for Key Box located at Summerhill and ensuring the Key List update is submitted to the Accounting Department monthly.
  • Perform other departmental duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all Red River Employees Federal Credit Union policies and procedures.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; security-related certifications a plus.
  • Experience monitoring and supporting electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms).
  • Experience in physical security operations and security assessments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including incident reporting.
  • Proficiency with security monitoring software and related equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with law enforcement in a calm, professional manner during incident response and follow-up investigations.
  • Availability for site visits, on-call rotation, and occasional evenings/weekends.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
