The Philadelphia Cricket Club is the oldest country club in the US and we are looking for an energetic and capable Banquet Server with experience as a Lead or Captain to run events. As the oldest Club in America, the club has a lot to offer in terms of stability and growth and great employee/member culture. Successful candidates will have open availability and this role is full-time at $28/hr.


1. Prepare event space for service according to the BEO and floor plan.

2. Ensure the event space, buffets, and tables are set to specification and well presented.

3. With the guidance of the Event Manager, assign opening, service, and closing duties to the banquet team. Function as a Server or Bartender as needed.

4. Guide the banquet team through the setup, execution, and breakdown of events.

5. Lead “line up” with the banquet team prior to the start of the event covering all details of the event including, but not limited to – timeline, menu items, allergens, staff assignments, reset to be completed at the conclusion of the event.

6. Provide bartending staff with the details of beverages being offered, bar count sheets, and consumption sheets.

7. Collect bar count sheets and consumption sheets at the conclusion of the event.

8. Email bar count sheets and consumption sheets to the Event Manager and Event Coordinator.

9. Welcome guests, making eye contact and using a friendly greeting.

10. Communicate with the event contact throughout the event to ensure timing and expectations are met. Immediately address any reasonable requests for changes.

11. Communicate with the culinary team throughout the event to ensure proper timing of food service. Immediately make the culinary team aware of any changes to the timeline.

Requirements:
  • Previous lead banquet experience, preferably in a private club setting.
  • Pennsylvania Alcohol Management Program Certification.
  • Must be at least 18 years old in keeping with Pennsylvania Liquor Code to serve alcohol.
  • Understanding of common food allergies and ingredients to assure guest safety and satisfaction.
  • Ability to read a BEO and execute the details.
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to handle negative feedback or complaints from guests in a professional manner.
  • Ability to carry trays of food and dirty dishes.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require use of arms and legs, moving the whole body, such as occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, and handling materials.
