Role Overview
The Data & Analytics Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high quality operational and analytical reporting across the organization’s HRIS ecosystem, with PrismHR Report Center as the core data source. This role focuses on transforming complex HR, payroll, benefits, and compliance data into accurate, actionable insights for internal teams and external clients through SQL based reporting, Report Center, and Power BI dashboards.
In this role, you will serve as the primary reporting and data subject matter expert for PrismHR, partnering closely with HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, and Technology teams to understand business and regulatory reporting requirements. You will translate those requirements into scalable reports, dashboards, and data models that support decision making, operational efficiency, and client needs.
The ideal candidate has strong SQL skills, a deep understanding of HR and payroll data structures, and a passion for building clear, reliable, and well governed reporting solutions. This position plays a critical role in ensuring stakeholders have timely access to trusted data while continuously improving reporting performance and usability.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain custom reports and queries using PrismHR Report Center and SQL to support HR, payroll, benefits, finance, and compliance needs.
Develop and publish Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards, integrating PrismHR data and other approved sources as required.
Partner with internal teams and clients to gather reporting requirements, define metrics, and deliver clear, well documented reporting solutions.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reports by validating source data, applying controls, and implementing reconciliation processes.
Optimize report performance through query tuning, efficient data modeling, and thoughtful visualization design.
Support end users through report training, documentation, and troubleshooting, acting as a trusted reporting resource.
Collaborate with HRIS vendors and internal technology teams during system updates or enhancements to assess reporting impacts and validate outputs.
Identify opportunities to automate recurring reports and dashboards and reduce manual data preparation efforts.
Stay current on HR analytics, reporting best practices, and visualization standards, recommending improvements as appropriate.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
Strong experience writing and maintaining SQL queries against relational databases.
Hands on experience with PrismHR Report Center or similar HRIS reporting tools strongly preferred.
Experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards, including data modeling and DAX fundamentals.
Solid understanding of HR, payroll, and benefits data concepts and how they are used for operational and compliance reporting.
High attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to validate and reconcile complex datasets.
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical data into clear business insights.
