Summary:
Handles relatively complex transactions with a high level of accuracy. Exercises independent judgement in some instances and with moderate supervision. Considerable tact and public relations ability is required. Performs typing, clerical, and filing functions in a variety of job assignments such as receiving and distributing departmental mail, photocopying materials, posting savings, checking, and IRA data.
Education, Skills and Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Broad knowledge of departmental operations, policies, and procedures. Good understanding of operations in other departments.
- An above average aptitude for figures, as well as requiring an extremely high level of accuracy.
- Ability to recognize irregular or suspicious transactions and take appropriate steps to prevent loss.
- A thorough knowledge of IRA, checking, and other savings accounts.
- Good knowledge of computer-generated reports and procedures as they affect departmental operations.
- Ability to type and proficiency in other office skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with customers and personnel from other departments and graciously serve their needs. Ability to work under pressure. Must demonstrate a willingness to learn. Must show maturity and common sense.
- Must deal with customers on reconciliation problems and determine whether requests for information should be furnished or refused, requires good judgement, tact, and ability to make decisions.
