Work Schedule
Monday through Friday
Between the hours of 0600 and 1800
Shifts are typically 8.5–9 hours, including an uncompensated 30–60 minute lunch break
Qualifications
Education
Master’s degree in Physical Therapy OR
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy for graduates prior to January 1, 2002
Graduate of a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Licensure
Current, full, active, and unrestricted Physical Therapist license
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience as a Physical Therapist within the past 5 years
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide a full range of physical therapy services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the Military Treatment Facility (MTF)
Evaluate patients and develop written treatment plans based on clinical assessments
Administer manual and non-manual therapeutic exercises to improve and maintain patient function
Instruct and assist patients with functional activities, daily living tasks, and the use of assistive devices (e.g., crutches, canes, prostheses)
Perform soft tissue mobilization using appropriate techniques and knowledge of anatomy and physiology
Administer traction therapy using approved equipment to relieve pain
Accurately document treatments, patient responses, and progress in patient charts and/or automated medical systems
Coordinate patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members; communicate patient care concerns as needed
Conduct prevention, wellness, education, and screening activities to promote positive health behaviors
Participate as an active member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, delegating tasks appropriately
Evaluate, document, and sign all physical therapy evaluations and reports
Maintain familiarity with the Department of Defense TRICARE Program requirements
Wear a beeper during clinic hours as required
Ensure all patient visits are coded by the end of the workday
