Position Overview:
Talantage has an immediate opening for an Assistant Division Manager – Operations & Engineering. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in budget management, staff supervision, emergency response, contract oversight, and engineering functions. This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and quality service delivery across company facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Division Manager in planning, overseeing, and administering specialized engineering functions.
- Provide leadership in daily operations to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and departmental goals.
- Respond to emergency operational needs, including after-hours, nights, and weekends as required.
- Seal engineering plans under immediate personal supervision, as applicable.
- Develop, manage, and monitor the Division's operating budget.
- Supervise and evaluate professional, technical, and operational staff; make recommendations on hiring, promotion, and disciplinary actions.
- Oversee and manage third-party contractors and service contracts.
- Query and analyze work order systems to produce data and reports for quality, efficiency, and workforce forecasting.
- Write specifications for maintenance, service, and outsourced labor contracts.
- Support Design and Construction in executing small projects using in-house resources.
- Represent the Division in meetings with departments, outside agencies, business partners, and community organizations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Licensure: Registered Professional Engineer with the Missouri Board of Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors.
- Experience: At least seven (7) years of related professional work experience.
- Licensure: Possession of a current, valid driver's license.
- This position requires availability for emergency response at all hours, except during approved leave.
- The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage both internal teams and external contractors.
