About this position
BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for aiding and navigating program participants through various human services programs by conducting group orientations and individual assessment/evaluation sessions. Schedules, assesses, and assigns referred program participants to appropriate activities and programs. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
WORK PERFORMED:
- Conducts regular group orientation and individual assessment sessions.
- Oversees and ensures proper completion of orientation and assessment paperwork.
- Schedules and conducts one-on-one assignment appointments for employability plans and assessment reports and assigns individuals to appropriate work activities.
- Verifies and documents all program participant activity in appropriate databases and paper files, including but not limited to attendance, participation, and future needs and goals.
- Provides ongoing counseling, advocacy, and liaison services to program participants.
- Completes all assignment paperwork and documentation for timely submission.
- Orients new program participants to placement program rules, regulations, and policies.
- Confers with program staff and the program participant to determine appropriate vocational goals.
- Conducts project presentations to potential local employment partners.
- Meets regularly with program participants to provide them with the employment leads to assist with their own job search efforts.
- Coordinates and conducts Job Readiness Training groups.
- Completes all required reports, documentation, expenditure reports, and employment verification/follow-up in a timely manner.
- Partners with project staff to ensure the needs of all program participants assigned to Career Systems Development for services are met.
- Performs other duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
(a) EQUIVALENT EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s Degree.
(b) EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- One year of experience in personnel, guidance, industrial, sales, or social work. Master’s degree in above-mentioned areas will be accepted in lieu of experience.
(c) KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Social awareness, cooperation with a team, record keeping, community job market, computer literacy, oral and written communication skills, presentation/public speaking, and employment preparation skills.
