About this position
Position Summary
Ambrose Electric Standby Power is seeking motivated, mechanically skilled individuals to join our growing team as Generator Installers and Service & Repair Technicians. This role supports both residential and commercial standby power systems, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
All work is local to the Albany, New York region with no overnight travel required. Overtime opportunities are available and paid at time-and-a-half.
Key Responsibilities
Installation Technicians
- Install residential and commercial standby generator systems.
- Perform electrical, gas, and mechanical connections in accordance with codes and company standards.
- Assist with site preparation, equipment setup, and final system testing.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installation work performed.
Service & Repair Technicians
- Diagnose, service, and repair generator systems and related components.
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, spark plugs, air filters, and battery replacement.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to restore proper system operation.
- Communicate service findings and recommendations clearly to customers and team members.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay ranging from $28.00 to $32.00, based on experience, skill level, and progression through company training.
- Overtime eligibility at time-and-a-half.

Qualifications
- Installation Roles: Minimum 1–5 years of combined electrical, gas, or general mechanical experience preferred.
- Service Roles: Experience working with small engines and performing routine maintenance and repairs.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work locally within the Albany region.
